Exercise Change Leadership?

Change leadership.  Personal leadership.  Great Leaders use these buzzwords.  And why not?  They sound inspiring and focused.

All with a simple purpose – to make things better. And it’s harder than ever to make things better.

So, how can we make things better?

What if we restated the beginning phrases:

  1. Transformational change
  2. Transformational leadership

And it all starts with the person in the mirror.  And next it starts with a commitment to get healthy and stay healthy.

Ya in?

Dream Big

The original tag line for Lane 8 was:

Dream Big.  Get There.  Stay There.

Take your time but hurry up.  The clock is ticking.

And remember to go a little easy on yourself.  But not for long though. Coaches push others to their limits. We must learn to do this with ourselves.  What do you think?

If you don’t, who will?  If not today, or this week, when?

We will fail.  It’s inevitable.  However, I believe failure is simply a test to see if we were serious or not.

Are you?

Lane 8 Flashback

It’s 5AM, November 17, 2009 here in Orlando, Florida. I write five blogs every single day. Adidas has a tag line, “Impossible is Nothing“!

Nike has one too, “I’ve Got Soul“.  It’s even a You Tube video.  It’s what I’m I’m craving right now – a little soul.

That video, even though it’s only 63 seconds, never fails to inspire me. How many days, and how many ways, do you inspire yourself before you ever walk out your front door?

Seriously, how many?  Hey, you don’t owe me an answer. You’ll never owe me anything. But I challenge you to challenge yourself and ask, “What do I owe myself?

Lane 8 Patience Is Genius

“Genius is nothing but a greater aptitude for patience”.Gerorges Louis Leclerc de Buffon

Isn’t it amazing how impatient we can be? It certainly is to me.  Whenever I start to think patience has been mastered, another unexpected test comes along.  One that tests my patience in new ways.

And these tests come out of nowhere.  And many times, from extremely innocent surroundings,  when we least expect it.

“You can not teach patience with impatience”. jeff noel

You will never succeed at overcoming your wellness challenges if you are impatient.  This is one of the fundamental laws of self improvement.  One of the hardest lessons I’ve ever had to learn.
