Still cleaning up and hoping, body

Have waited patiently for new growth to begin.

It’s a slow process before visual signs say the plant is still alive.

Not unlike our physical vibrancy patience.

Here’s the insight.

Everything takes longer than you want it to.

For example, after a lifetime of trying to ‘walk into’ eight hours of sleep every night, i’ve finally been able to accomplish this for the past couple of years. Before that i had a good batting average, but now my batting average is nearly 100%.

Truth, i literally have never consistently got eight hours of sleep every night.

To consistently accomplish this for a few years in a row now has become a personal habit that i’m incredibly humble, and proud, to have achieved.

Note: Totally realize, and accept, this could change without warning.

Come Winter, it’ll be alright

 Nature preserve trail sign
Second photo yesterday.

Yesterday’s walk was 10 miles. Seven on the morning walk. Three more doing yard work. Spent 10 hours outside. Most of it shirtless. February. Winter. Perfect.

Need to leave home in an hour to get there 30-minutes before the Shot Put.

No need to warm up.

Haven’t thrown since that one time a few months ago, when i just wanted to establish whether or not i could throw in the 30-foot range.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

What About That Girl?

The girl that was engaged (but it fell apart) to be married, Cheryl, well, she moved away – far away – on my recommendation. She graduated and became a Residence Hall Director at Washington State University – the opposite corner of the Country.

I moved to Orlando, Florida to work as a Disney World Cast Member Intern – a Jungle Cruise skipper. We couldn’t have been farther apart without leaving the States.
