Maybe your competition is simply to see how many days, or years, in a row you can do something…

But I don’t like competition.

But I don’t like having to prove myself or measure up.

But I don’t have the time or energy.

Trust me, when you finally figure this out, you will feel amazing.

And you will kick yourself for waiting so long.

Be a beacon, not a roadblock.

Maybe that’s why most folks go to College anyway. To find their life mate.

The one bad thing though, he amassed significant debt from student loans.

And he jogged to stay in shape, and counter the effects of high-calorie keg parties.

He even watched the 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics.

The 1984 Olympics were mostly ignored, in favor of an overdue Honeymoon trip – bicycling across Washington State.

Unless It Matters To You

This morning, at 4:50AM, while deciding what to write here at Lane 8, found a post I had started in August 2009, but had never finished, never posted.

In watching these two videos, it’s clear where my mind was. It was on motivation. Everyday our minds should be on motivation.  Everyday.

Many of you will never be runners. That’s ok.  Never want you to feel like you should be a runner. But I absolutely want you to feel you should do something. Walk, bike, dance, roll, swim, stairs, yoga, gym, ski…. it doesn’t matter, unless it matters to you.
