To me physical gymnastics means we use all the gymnast’s traits to “perfect” our cardio, strength, core, flexibility, sleep, nutrition, and motivation.
Our physical vibrancy is counting on us to proactively prevent or mitigate disease, injury, and illness as we age. And, to enjoy vibrantly active, healthy daily living.

Alfred is 100 years old in this 2009 photo. He competed at the 2009 Masters Track & Field World Championships in Lahti, Finland. So did i, at half Alfred’s age. Perhaps i will enjoy another opportunity some day.

Fun is finding an angle to create a sun reflection on the pin.
Pain is a neighbor.
Pain is back.
Not in either foot though.
Pain in the lower left calf (again).
Debilitating pain.
Excruciating pain.
Pain that will likely be a permanent part of life, for the rest of my life.
Grateful that walking is doable.
As we head into Summer 2022 (yes, it’s January 2023 as this publishes), the excitement for mountain hiking is fun to anticipate. Even after all these years, the thrill is still there.
