Aging is cool, body

personal vibrancy quote from Disney's Jeff Noel
Not only for being organized and fit, but for being emotionally peaceful, mentally optimistic, and feeling like an artist at work.
Huntsman Senior Games 2011
Let age be a number others worry about. This is from the Huntsman Senior Games in 2011. Utah. Chapin, not yet a teenager, accompanied me. i competed in the 800 & 1,500. Placed in top three in both 50-54 age-group races.
t-shirt with clever slogan about aging
Is aging gracefully easy? It depends.

Aging.

Advantage or disadvantage?

Like every question, whether in a Disney Institute classroom, or simply in your own head…

It depends.

It ALWAYS depends.

Yes, i know i’m shouting.

And you also know i lower case every “i” that i type, since forever ago. Not sure of when it started but it’s probably 15-20 years ago.

Two week countdown, body

USAir Paris
Paris to Charlotte, NC. Coming home from a business trip in 2012.

Today’s ‘workout’ felt easy and joyful.

Same workout i do every Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

It’s not the upcoming Paris trip excitement that helped.

It was a two-day (weekend) rest.

And a shirtless workout.

Spring’s morning temps are making a tee-shirt an unwanted layer. Too hot and sweaty.

Kinda like being a young lad on a Pennsylvania Summer.

Spring break, body

beach
Spring break at a beach is a dream for many during or after a long winter.

My first college Spring Break was in 1979.

Four of us drove a small car from Philadelphia to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I-95 the whole way.

We stayed in a campground several miles from the beach. We pitched a large, stand-up-inside canvas tent. It smelled ridiculously musty.

We must have each packed a sleeping bag. No air mattresses, no luxuries of any sort.

Not even sure we had a cooler to keep our beer cold. And we probably didn’t need one. Beer never lasted long after purchased.

Bottomline, we enjoyed palm trees, sunshine, and beer.

The 24-hour drive back to college stunk.

Everyday.

Move like you mean it.
