Weather is one of many excuses we can easily summon to postpone exercising.

Coatland at the mall. Spending a few hours away from the small one-bedroom Senior Living apartment seemed reasonable after three days.

Father and son hanging out. All the shoppers wearing coats, so we called it “Coatland”. A far cry from sub-tropical Orlando.

Wellness is a year-round commitment. Cold weather or no cold weather.

Getting old and thinking old are choices.

The mental thinking part is the biggest and most important choice.

The physical, chronological aging part isn’t a conscious choice. It just happens.

Thinking is a choice we put on auto pilot. The default. The treadmill of life.

Attitude helps us manage temptation.

Attitude can also change on a dime when the pressures to stay fit tempt us to cut something out of our schedule.

And exercise seems to be the first thing we can stop when our lives are overloaded with time commitments.

Not exercising when we know it to be a non-negotiable, feels like lying.
