Cold hearted

yellow hibiscus flower
A yellow hibiscus flower is the opposite of cold. This is our backyard.

Cold hearted?

If our blood temperature drops just a little, we are physically imbalanced.

And just a few degrees more and we start to shiver.

Too much for too long physically creates hypothermia.

Hypothermia can easily end a human’s life.

First rain run

Hallmark valentines Cards
Love yourself. Love the temple that houses everything keeping you alive. Valentine’s Day is tomorrow.

First rain run.

Out the door at 5:15am (20 minutes ago). Cheryl remarked, “This is my first rain run.”

To which i thought, “Cool, and, it’s cold and dark too.”

So many reasons to skip.

But none of them are “because it would improve our health”.

Rode to the Executive Overview with the top down

2018 indoor track season
Yesterday via Twitter…looking forward to Feb 3 Millrose Games…longest running indoor track meet in America.

Rode to Executive Overview with the top down.

That’s what i said to the early executive arrivals.

January 19 (yesterday) our school was on Winter Dress protocol. The College Prep school has a strict dress code and flexes it when morning temps are unsafe.

Rode my bicycle 3.5 miles to the 9am meeting.

Who braves unusual cold to ride a bike to an Executive Sales opportunity?

It’s 12 degrees here in Allentown.

There will be no morning walk today.

PS. If we lived here, we’d have systems and processes for exercising outside year round.

i mean, how could we not?

Be well like you mean it

Church hallway
A frigid morning (19 degrees) was warmed inside by a bright, rising Sun.

Be well, like you mean it.

When you live in a sub-tropical climate and visit Pennsylvania in November, it’s easy, as a visitor, to imagine how challenging it is to exercise outside on frigid mornings.

Here’s the thing – if you live in Pennsylvania (or anywhere freezing temps are common five months a year), it’s your job to figure it out and make it a non-issue.

While i’m ill-equipped for 20-degree mornings, the people who live here shouldn’t be.
