Whistle while you work

Downtown Orlando
Downtown Orlando yesterday.
eat more ice cream sign
What the sign really says is, “We want to increase our revenue and the only way to do that is if you buy more stuff, more often.”

Whistle while you work.

The obvious opportunity of city life is that most everything is within walking distance.

We have walked many miles in the past 48 hours.

More miles than we walk at home.

At home, from a time-required perspective, things are close for biking or walking.

To save time, we bike rather than walk to the grocery, doctor, restaurant, and other assorted services. Biking is simply much faster.

PS. From home, i personally walk 4 miles roundtrip to the gym every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday because i’m giving my running legs a multi-year break. The gym’s shortest route is 1.5 miles, so i cut through a few subdivisions to add an extra mile roundtrip. The longer route also keeps me away from the “Disney Parkway” heavy traffic noise.

What are your health habits?

Yesterday at Disney University creating a small wow for the CEO who booked Monday’s Disney Keynote speech.

What are your health habits?

Are you feeling confident and accomplished with your list?

That’s one of the side effects of a balanced and consistent list.

Some habits will feel like work more often than not.

For me, flossing is like that.

Some habits will be mostly joyful.

For me, eating fresh fruit is like that.

And some habits will be a decently balanced love/hate scenario.

For us first-world inhabitants, this is going to last a lifetime.

Imagine living in a third-world, war-torn country.

We have it so good that complaining or avoiding common sense wellness habits is a first-world war crime.

What’s holding you back?

Archery target explaination
Always aim for the bullseye. Hitting the target is good. Repeatedly hitting the bullseye is great.

What’s holding you back?

You need to answer this question.

Until you do, you’re dreams and your reality will never meet.

Autopilot strengthens physical habits and rituals

Small town water tower
Yesterday in Eatonville, from the Macedonia Missionary Church parking lot.

You can’t solve your health problems challenges tomorrow when you are on autopilot; repeating what you did yesterday.

Talking about your personal health right now, as CEO of You, Inc.

But.

Autopilot.

Gets.

In.

The.

Way.

When you look at where you’ve been and compare that to where you are now, changing your wellness habits and rituals has changed everything.

And you can see the example or the warning that other people in your life offer you.

How can you not?

screen time paradox
And not only live more, move more.

How can you not?

i’ll share the secret.

You can not because you make it so easy not to.

Not doing is a daily habit and ritual.

Defaulting to poor choices (fast food, processed foods, sugar, big portions, etc) is super easy too.

And not only easy, enjoyable.

Deadly.
