Hearts a melting

Glacier melting stats
Change is always constant. In either direction. Control what you can control.

Failure lets you know what doesn’t work.

What doesn’t work and why are valuable data points in the journey for small incremental improvements and for dramatic leaps.

Do not let what you can’t do (or don’t know) stop you from what you can do (or find out).

Healthy World

mountain range
From Huckleberry Fire Tower looking East, Northeast. A 13-mile roundtrip hike with serious elevation gain and descent. This ain’t normal day-walking.

Want to be healthier?

Do what no one else is doing.

Do what no one else is even thinking about doing.

Secret hack to improve your health

At Disney Institute, Bob and i agreed to start the one push up a day challenge for a week, and to add a pushup for each passing week. Bob lasted three weeks.

The secret hack to improving your health?

The way to get better is to get better at getting better.

In 1999, i began doing one push-up a day for a week. The second week, two push-ups a day. Third week, three a day, and so on.

Two years later, in week 104 since i began with one pushup a day, 104 pushups a day were done every day that week.

No way possible to start at 104 a day, and also no way it’s impossible if you start small and grow slowly.

Do you know why?

Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. If Disney Ran Your Life, you’d make ordinary nature photos more interesting.

Do you know why many photos contain Disney figures?

Because if Disney Ran Your Life, you’d be asked to plus-up great photos by adding something unexpected.

If Disney Ran Your Life, you’d also learn about improving business (personal in this case) structure and processes at scale, so that the entire organization (or Family in this case) benefits.

You’d also learn, If Disney Ran Your Life, that once you improve something, you endeavor to improve it even more.

Can’t lift heavy things or won’t?

Finished this movie recently. Not sure why i took the photo, unless it illustrates that the end begins when we stop taking care of ourselves physically.

Can’t lift heavy things or won’t?

We all have the same answer.

Won’t.

We all say, “Won’t”, even if we don’t say it.

We say it with our inaction.

(Of course there are exceptions. Do you have arms and can you move them? Ok, so you are not an exception.)

  • Yesterday: 2×10/70,80 2×6/90
  • 1 year ago: 3×10/60,70,70
  • 2 years ago: 3×10/30,40,50

Pro tip: Measure what you do, because you cannot improve what you do not measure.
