Thank You Lorie Sheffer

March To Your Own Beat, But Do March
March To Your Own Beat, But Do March

Yesterday, Lorie Sheffer, from Pennsylvania, debuted here at Lane 8 as a Guest Blogger.

Most of you know she’s been appearing at Mid Life Celebration for several weeks, each Sunday, offering her unique wisdom and wit.

Lorie’s post yesterday was a great reminder, wasn’t it?

Health is relative.  It is in our own personal desires, wishes, hopes and comfort level that matter, not what society says is “healthy”.

You may also find Sally’s comment yesterday valuable.  Sally added another layer of perspective.

As you go through your Monday today, think about what health means to you. Who defines it for you?  Society? Or your own common sense?

Top Right Link Will Always Lead You
Top Right Link Will Always Lead You

It is now amazingly easy to click through all five daily blogs, without having to think or remember which order or how many you’ve already visited.

Simply click the top link under Blogroll, on the upper right-hand column. It automatically advances you.

Ever heard these phrases?:

  • Never get bored with the basics
  • It’s common sense, but not common practice
  • The road to excellence has no finish line

On a friend’s suggestion, I’ve simplified navigation between the five daily blogs.

It’s basic, it’s common sense, and just one more simple improvement.

Maybe you weren’t aware I write five daily blogs.

We need five daily blogs to optimize our lives, the same way we need these five to optimize our health:

  1. Strength
  2. Endurance
  3. Flexibility
  4. Nutrition
  5. Rest

Again, common sense, but not common practice.

Diet And Exercise

Anti-Anything Unhealthy
Anti-Anything Unhealthy

Diet and exercise.

Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?

Diet and exercise are the keys to a healthier lifestyle.

Not a perfect lifestyle.

But a healthier lifestyle.

Why wouldn’t everyone want a piece of that?

Daily Wellness Tips

For daily wellness tips from Everyday Health, click here. Once on the Calendar page, if you click on any date, a short, daily wellness tip will pop up for you.

Meanwhile, here are my favorite daily wellness tips:

  1. Think Big Picture – long term
  2. Be flexible with your schedule/routine
  3. Be creative with your schedule/routine
  4. Work through the mental tough spots
  5. Find a million ways to stay motivated

There are others, but these are the critical success factors that work for me. My way is not the only way. And this list is intended to share the common sense building blocks for a wide variety of approaches.

The best way, is the way that works for you.  And, generally speaking, the best way for you is the one that you never abandon.  Good luck and here’s to your health!
