Devine Mercy Sunday

Divine Mercy Sunday.  I didn’t run yesterday.  It was a scheduled, “active rest day”.

What a great homily (sermon) we had yesterday by a visiting Priest.   I must ask you, and you know this to be true, isn’t it wonderful to watch and listen to someone speak who’s passionate about their topic?

I’m not just talking about Church or Religious services, but about anything in life.

I often wonder if the people around me feel incredible passion, medium passion, or no passion, from the way I conduct my life.

Ever wonder about that one?   How often?  Do you like your answers?   I didn’t.   Why don’t we all work on our answers today.  Be passionate, because if you won’t be, who will?  Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

PS.  Tomorrow, I’ll be back training again.  Today, I’ll enjoy my second conscecutive day of rest.  Do you think I’m passionate about 400 meters?   Best of health to you!

Happy Healthy Sunday?

Happy Healthy Sunday?

It’s our choice isn’t it?

I’m still smiling from yesterday.   I asked our eight-year old son to help create a tee-shirt design for Lane8.org

I challenged him to do five pages worth.  He did.  He’s clever, creative and funny.

This journey to make it to the Men’s 50-54 400 meter finals at the Master’s World Championships is nothing short of inspiring to me.   I do not belong in this league.   I asked my son, “Remember David and Goliath“?  “Yes“, he said.   “What was the morale of the story“?, I shot back.

You can do anything“, was his answer.

That’s right, nothing is impossible“!, I said softly.

Follow your dreams.  Dream Big.  Get There.  Stay There!  Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

Mid Life Celebration & jungle jeff?

Mid Life Celebration and jungle jeff?   Now what?

Hey, I’m getting a bit tired of waiting for 100%.  You’re probably tired of hearing about it.  Me too.

So?

So I’ve added a little bit ‘o spice to today’s post.

On the surface, it has nothing to do with running, wellness, fitness, health, etc.

Look past the surface, and it has everything to do with running and wellness.

Two PAGES, each with brief explanations have been added to the right column.

PS.  I busted my hump today – hill work and core.   You know how to be world-class?   Bust your hump.  Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

Who’s more passionate?

Who’s more passionate about your health than you?

In case you haven’t noticed, the answer is no one is more passionate about your health than you are.

If this comes as a surprise to you, please hang up and dial 911.

Hey, I’m joking. Sort of.

The emergency you may have, like I did, was a wake-up call from a routine blood test from my 1999 annual physical.

My “good” cholesterol was dangerously low. It was lower than the lowest acceptable level. This got my attention. It got my mid-life attention because it was something I never, ever thought would be an issue.

Guess again.

So I decided to be the most passionate person I know about my own health. This had made an enormous difference. Like night and day. My HDL is now consistently 56 – 60.

I’m still struggling with my overall cholesterol, but am currently maintaining 190 – 210.

I ran a nice and easy five miles this morning. Worked out at the gym yesterday – to strengthen my core, and then parked at my Church and ran four miles on Apopka-Vineland Road, near Conroy-Windermere Road. It’s decently hilly.

As the Mastercard commercial saying goes, “What’s in your wallet?”

Translated, it means, what did you do today or yesterday to prove you are the most passionate person about your health, on this planet?

Make it a GREAT day, because if you don’t, who will?

Carpe diem, jeff
