On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

This website is about our physical health. To easily and safely leave this site to read today’s post on jeff’s spiritual health website, click here.

Balance is not a myth

Windermere Prep School near Horse farm
Yesterday’s run included going down a street i haven’t been on, but pass nearly everyday. Our High School is beyond the horse (left).

Decent eight-miler yesterday morning.

Also a decent gym workout in the afternoon.

These are things that refresh not only our body, but also our mind and our spirit.

A trifecta of sorts.

The few, the smart, the hopeful

William Wallace quote
Yesterday from, of all places, a Comic Book store.

If you’ve traveled here via Mid Life Celebration, thank you.

Why thank you?

Because if you’ve navigated from MLC you are likely to click through the next three blogs.

What this tells me is you get it.

You get the interconnectedness between mind, body, spirit, work, and home.

There’s even a chance you believe that balance is not a myth.

It’s cool to know there are others who believe in not accepting “balance is not possible”.

Why could I not find a single person?

Catholic Church social hall
Last night’s Eagle Scout celebration dinner.

Why could i not find a single person who needed to defend their physical health in a convincing manner?

Someone who made time for exercise, was intentional about their food choices and intake, (and invisibly focused on adequate rest), in a deliberate yet unobtrusive way.

Similar to an intensely spiritual person who has the ability to not make others uncomfortable with their passion.

Is that unreasonable?

Insight: What does defending something resemble? It would look, sound, and feel like someone who is “in training” for something.

The dividends from being vibrantly healthy

Clermont Florida Five Mile Road
Received photo yesterday from Associate High School Director.

One of our Son’s High School administrators is a runner. Discovered this yesterday (6th day of school year) in an email exchange we shared.

He sent the map above with the ‘hidden Mickey’ in the bottom center.

Why?

Because of my intentionality in relationship building.

While this website/blog is about physical health, everything is connected.

Being vibrantly healthy builds confidence and confidence builds relationships.

And everyone knows that relationships, in any business, are key to getting things done faster and better.

Note: Two days ago my run had us crossing paths in the High School parking lot. He was arranging traffic cones and i was soaked in sweat as the sun was still below the horizon. He was “impressed with my time management skills”.
