i’m going to Walt Disney World, body

Two presenters on a stage
April and Richard were hand-picked to be the Emcees. The company/client is completely focused on Disney being this year’s example.

Didn’t get to walk today.

Actually, my feet could use a rest from all the standing yesterday.

Game day, body

Three sessions: C-Suite, CX project team, 400 top global leaders. Picture here is the 10AM setting.

Tweaking yesterday’s three questions:

  1. What’s the goal?
  2. How do you do it?
  3. Why should you do it?

Note: Number 3 context–for your entire career. Every day. All day.

Three questions

CHI Health Arena and Convention Center
The bridge should be heated.
11-second video: 8:30 AM. My first “morning” in Omaha.

Three questions to possibly be the first thing i say tomorrow to kick off the Disney customer service Keynote speech.

Have been planning for months, since we signed the contract, to start the way i have always started since May 2023.

But just now lying in bed across from the conference arena, it hit me that perhaps three questions might have even more impact to gain the audience’s attention immediately.

  1. What is the supreme goal of every customer interaction?
  2. Are there free, fun, unlimited resources to reach that goal?
  3. Is there a clear, concise, and compelling reason to do this all day, everyday, for your entire career?

Here’s round two of the same three questions. Writing them out helps me visualize these being the first words out of my mouth.

  1. What is the supreme goal of every customer interaction?
  2. How do you reach it?
  3. How do you do it for a lifetime?
  4. Are employees your customers too?

Over-focused travel, body

Texts from airline
Walked a few miles in Atlanta airport getting to Gate D12 and then back again to C34 due to gate change. Note: Decent turbulence while trying to circle in red with my finger on the phone.

Intentionally wearing running shoes that allow double duty. Walking, obviously. And also keynote speaking.

Why is this an intentional decision?

Because while dress shoes (generally) would look ‘nicer’, they’re hard to walk/hike in for seven miles.

Note: i do not have room to pack a second pair of shoes.

Cold hearted

A yellow hibiscus flower is the opposite of cold. This is our backyard.

Cold hearted?

If our blood temperature drops just a little, we are physically imbalanced.

And just a few degrees more and we start to shiver.

Too much for too long physically creates hypothermia.

Hypothermia can easily end a human’s life.
