Less, please

Less is more.

Less setbacks.

Less limits.

Less trepidation.

Less slothfulness.

Less excuses.

Less weight.

Pop what?

15-second video: Not gonna lie. When i heard Pop Tarts i thought, “You’re kidding, right?”

Believe what you want to believe.

The only person that gets, or doesn’t get, fooled is you.

You.

No offense.

And i know no offense will be taken.

Pop Tarts????

Be real.

Note: i grew up eating Pop Tarts for breakfast. How could a “Strawberry Pop Tart” not be good for you?

Just read the ingredients and the nutritional content.

Gullible is as gullible does.

Pop Tarts are a great daily start to adult obesity.

Ps. Money talks. Never forget.

Note: i get that they’re convenient, taste yummy, portable, and perhaps at a decent per-serving price point. That’s the genius. It not being good for you will never trump all the plusses.

Flu, Type A

Indulge. You’ve earned it. Right?

Today is day six with Influenza, Type A.

This began on Christmas Eve “eve” (Dec 23).

So on the third day, Christmas Day, i was well into the physical affects.

Body aches. Fever. Head and chest congestion. Tired. No appetite.

Luckily, never had headaches.

Thank you DayQuill and NightQuill. BIG TIME!

Today is the first day that feels like progress.

Not yet physically at a ‘good” level. But it feels near.

Woke up at 1:00 AM drenched in sweat.

Sheets soaked. Both the bottom and the top sheets.

Cheryl has been sleeping in the Guest room most of the week.

Influenza A is highly contagious.

The first three days i thought it was a cold. We did not distance ourselves.

Last night i walked one mile at sunset.

Note: If a typical activity week is Monday through Friday (assume five days weekly), i’ve been averaging about 7 miles per day. And two or three ‘no-gym’ gym workouts. This week i’ve average .2 miles per day and zero gym workouts. Grateful to be alive and with my Family.

What physical pain

thermometer
Day four with a fever. Thought it would be over in 24-72 hours.
home covid test
Because we had an extra (free) Covid test, why not test? Negative.
medical referral sheet
Went to the Walk-In side of my primary care physician at Windermere Medical Center. The receptionist told me i am no longer a patient there. She did offer a $167 office visit plus retail costs for any tests. Never thought of patients as commodities until now.
urgent care building
Took the closet referral from the photo above.
urgent care menu of services
One of my biggest clients is part of HCA. If you zoom in on the third line from the top, you see HCA. Had never heard of HCA until they bought my client’s Nursing College a couple years ago.
family holding a koala
This was supposed to be a Christmas present the day before. But i received it while bedridden on December 26. Had made a Disney’s Animal Kingdom reservation for Dec 26, optimistic my “cold” would be done.

What physical pain do you want in your life?

i’ll gladly take the pain of continuously doing the reps to have a body that thrives on moving, nutrition, and rest. Carving out time. Making sound choices versus easy ones with food and sleep.

What pain do you want to avoid?

i want to avoid the pain that stems from a lack of consistent effort to do the reps. The slothful, sedentary lifestyle habits that no one says enhances your present and longterm physical vibrancy.

2024’s final week, body

blow up pool on Florida patio
Our first lap pool.

You own the last week of the year.

You own your health the last week of the year.

You own your time the last week of the year.

You own it all.

You always have.

When you worked for someone else, they easily conditioned you to think otherwise.
