Goodness, body

The photographer sat next to me before and after she captured this moment.

My food goal every Thanksgiving is to feel satisfied, not stuffed. Put one in the win column again this year. Goodness is doing the basics brilliantly.

Thankful for food

Apple Watch fitness app on someone's wrist
Yesterday’s Thanksgiving morning 6-mile walk. Walked four more doing yard work. A ten-mile day wasn’t a goal.

There’s food and then there’s fuel.

Same thing with two paradoxical names and applications.

Nutrition in every ‘healthy’ category.

The ‘food is medicine’ mantra.

If you’re gonna eat — and we dang sure will — what if we made remarkably smart, strategic, lifetime choices on everything from food sources, timing, amounts, snacks, etc?

Physical thanksgiving

Physical vibrancy is challenging to achieve.

Why?

Life.

Busy.

Assorted setbacks.

Few familiar role models.

Distractions, entertainment, medications.

Is it possible that any human could be thankful for a sedentary life?

Regular movement, adequate rest, and balanced fuel (nutrition) — these three are thanksgiving-worthy. Daily. Without end.
