Running on…

Which way?

One of the most overlooked joys of daily blogging is that you are the boss of what you write.

i don’t know many people in the world who blog everyday. And of the ones who do, not many are runners.

If there’s a run today, it will have to be 1,200 miles north.

And if there’s blogging tomorrow (like i’d miss a day) it’ll be 1,200 miles away.

Running on…portable joy.

Is it obvious we take our health seriously?

Golds Gym Personal Trainers Orlando
Charles is a great person. Period.

Became friends with Charles in 2015. We met at Golds Gym Orlando. Charles is one of those people who takes his health seriously enough that you know without ever talking to him that he takes his health seriously.

May we all become a beacon like that. Whether or not we are a personal trainer.

Worrying about our health is tougher than this

Sidewalk next to Tibet Butler Nature Preserve
i run 400 meters down, and walk back. Then i repeat this process 11 more times.

Doing 12 brisk 400 meter runs with only a four minute walk between each is tough.

Worrying about our health is tougher than actually doing the work called:

  • Regular exercise
  • Balanced nutrition
  • Adequate rest

The paradox of worry is that our effort is greater when we do nothing but worry.

Another way of saying the same thing is: Quitting doesn’t make it easier, quitting makes it harder.
