Hope, care, cure

Mission statement
Random moment walking through an airport yesterday.

Mission statement
That goal. Your goal? Lifelong remission from exercise?

Bold goal.

Lifelong remission.

For cancer, it’s a God-send.

For exercise, it’s a premature death sentence.

Clarity comes only through deep self-reflection.

Note: Sometimes clarity arrives in the form of a severe wake-up call.

Confirm commitment?

Favorite artist Hugh McLeod at Gaping Void Art.

Today, can you eat a little more deliberately, exercise in a way that’s sustainable for a lifetime, and go to bed early enough to get your optimal sleep (somewhere around 8 hours)?

Can you?

When we push ourselves daily, our resolve grows and our spine strengthens with courage and determination.

In the absence of daily boundary-pushing, we are left with nothing to stiffen our spine.

Coach yourself today to do something scary.

Even in failing, you’ve conquered fear.

Thanks for biking with her yesterday

Florida Hospital mission
Yesterday in the waiting room for our Son to get a flu shot. Florida Hospital is the only organization (out of 2k i’ve worked with) where every employee can say this on demand.

Thanks for biking with her yesterday.

She said, “You don’t need to thank me for that.”

One person doesn’t see the need while the other feels compelled to notice and comment.

If you rarely (literally never) exercise, and then you do, it’s good.

Welcomed.

Maybe a glimmer of hope.

Maybe not.

History doesn’t support hope.

But maybe this time?

The one bold choice that changes everything

Highline Trail
First-time hikers on Highline Trail, July 30, 2017. No turning back.

The one bold choice that changes everything.

The choice to never turn back.

Go.

Even though it was Saturday

Incline bench for core
The steepest setting.

Even though it was Saturday, and i hadn’t seen my Family in four days, i invested an hour for exercise – on the way home from the airport.

Balance doesn’t come with a perfect formula.
