Public Service Announcement. jeff noel’s Lane 8 Blog may seem like a running blog, but deep down, it’s about our physical health. jeff noel just happens to be a runner to stay healthy.

Saying that, another reminder, the original tagline here was, If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

It would be impossible for jeff noel to raise enough money to help find a cure for this disease our son has had since he turned 4.

Here’s to our impossible health goal(s).

Are you getting this? The whole notion that excuses abound, and courage does not? It often makes me sick to my stomach when people write self-help blogs and we never hear their story?

Tell us your story man. Don’t tell us about some amazing person doing some incredibly inspiring endeavor. That’s everywhere. We need those, and love those.

But if you’re like me, you want to hear it from a different angle. Someplace with a real person, ordinary and average, whose story will never be on the evening news. And whose story sounds like a friend we know.

Low risk = I have to get in shape anyway.

High risk = overdoing it could cause another injury – possibly worse than the others.

The Timing & Location Seemed Like A Sign

No, it wasn’t here in my hometown, Walt Disney World.

The (2006) National Championships – August. Charlotte, North Carolina. Easy, affordable access from Orlando.

Recovered by then? Maybe.

But first, the physical therapist insists on strengthen my core. I said, “Is that somewhere in the middle?” Didn’t even know what ‘core’ was. But quickly found out.

And by the way, my core was pathetic. Maybe worse.

Physical therapist said injuries will continue unless the core is strengthened. Who knew?
