How do we make progress when we aren’t making progress?

The challenge with progress is how to keep making it when we aren’t making progress. Temptations to quit are relentless, and insidiously small and powerful.

If we remember only one thing today let it be this – this too shall pass. But it will return tomorrow to try and defeat us again.

One day at a time.

We become an example or a warning by our daily routine.

Gaining weight from being home too much and eating because of stress.

Five new pounds in the first ten days of retirement.

The good news? Was down to 153. So in reality, only up two.

Whatever, right?

Imagine getting to a place where you can feel the difference in two pounds – either way.

We get hung up (lost even) in the how and the what.  Forget those. Think ‘why?’

Isn’t retirement supposed to dump a ton of extra time our way? Day two of second retirement week (yesterday) was supposed to include a one hour walk.  Didn’t happen.

Too many other competing things to do. Overall it was a great day, just lacked physical activity.
