Creativity is rampant here.

Where?

Anywhere you want it to be.

But it has to be a deeply embedded habit. Otherwise it won’t be a habit. (That’s called a blinding flash of the obvious.)

Last night we jogged six mailboxes, but we mixed it up (got creative) to offset some chest pains.

Instead of jogging six consecutive mailboxes, we jogged three, then walked three, then completed the second three, and finished with walking three more mailboxes to finish where we began.

Guess what?

No pain.

Plus, a remarkably surprising thing happened. The second jog of three mailboxes was the fastest pace we have ever had, and we didn’t even try.

Why?

Because we were warmed up. It was an aha moment.

And even at the fastest pace, no chest pain.

Have been thinking about how to pull this off this morning, knowing that i need to be out the door at 7:45am for Orlando International airport.

Bags packed last night? Check.

All other logistics taken care of last night? Check.

Ok. Time for a run. Check.

Boredom, excuses, fatigue, procrastination, time  – yeah, they add up.

Over manage the things you used to under manage or ignore.

Be intentional about being fit for life.

PS. Be rebellious enough to fight for your wellness.

In the midst of focus and discipline is compromise and creativity.

The morning required more time than i hoped, so the run was cut short by 30 minutes. Still, at 50+ minutes, it was a run to be grateful for.

This morning before sunrise.

 

In order to run before sunrise i had to postpone writing until mid-morning – while our son was at the Dentist. Writing this post in the waiting room is less comfortable than in my second floor office facing east, and facing the daily sunrise.

Because i knew in advance this morning would be challenging, i had already prepped myself for working differently.

By the way, the 8-miler (before sunrise) was nice and easy and included 800 meters of walking on either end.
