Out of nowhere, a way to mix it up at the gym

Greasing the neurological groove.

Thank you to Craig Nickoloff for the share yesterday.

The rule is simple. After each exercise, you should not feel tired, you should still feel refreshed.

Changed up the reps i normally do, but didn’t change the weight.

Not only physiologically stimulating, but also psychologically invigorating.

Don’t read the fine print, write it

Orlando Motivational Keynote Speakers
Reading the fine print?

The only way to make a New Year’s resolution stick for the rest of our lives is to make “the rest of our lives” part of our contract.

Conventional cliches revolve around “make sure you read the fine print”.

Try this on for size:

Make sure you write the fine print.

You, yes you. Write your contract with yourself. Add the fine print. You know, the clause that says, “I must do this or everything is null and void.”

Had the guts but didn’t have the time

Top Disney Leadership Speaker
Yesterday’s date is in the upper right. i love when there is tangible proof of the facts.

Calling an audible. This blog is about our physical health, but i’m using this space today to continue a business story from yesterday.

Will i have the guts to use this example?

That’s what i asked yesterday. Yes, i was prepared to use it. But no, i didn’t.

Here’s why.

Time.

There wasn’t enough time.

Why?

Because something unpredictable happened, and since the client and i were clear on the vision (end goal), i flexed to take maximum advantage of the unplanned opportunity.

We stumbled upon something that really resonated with the client and it happened 75% of the way through our agenda. It was glorious. Not only because we discovered it, but because we agreed to sacrifice the remaining planned agenda to take advantage of the amazing, unplanned opportunity.

Note: i did not intentionally take the Apple Watch photo above. Somehow, it happened though, right as we had solidified unity on a tangible group goal – a clear, concise, and compelling roadmap for leadership alignment.

Clutter steals our wellness

Pennsylvania Fall foliage
Beauty, if we but raise our head.

Clutter steals our wellness.

When our schedule is cluttered with things that keep us from regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate rest – we have only two choices. Change or don’t change. Clutter is a great arguement for not changing.

What change in us are we willing to subtly accomplish?

Weather 10-day Orlando forecast
Photo yesterday…Fall begins when the low temp starts with a 6.

What are our cues for change?

Seasonal changes become obvious eventually, but early on the change is subtle. In Orlando, breaking the 70 degree night time low is the first signifiant change. This hasn’t happened since April.

Have been enjoying the final hot humid mornings drenched in sweat knowing i will soon need to wear a t-shirt to stay warm before sunrise.

Fast forward to New Year’s Day 2016. What change in us are we willing to subtly accomplish so that eventually, the change is obvious?
