Running through Disney University never gets old.

One of the ways we can live a “do-over” is to reprioritize our life. Case in point. Yesterday was Friday and jam packed with an all day meeting downtown. There were a million reasons why exercise wasn’t going to fit.

Made it a priority to get up early and run 7+ miles before driving 40 minutes to be early for the meeting.

Made it a priority to leave the meeting mid-afternoon to be able to visit Gold’s gym before the Middle School Science Fair.

We are in charge of our priorities. No one else commands this.

Your move.

You know the feeling, the one where it’s easy to come up with 8-10 pain points for why not exercising today sounds good?

Well, um, what if we didn’t have these feelings.

What happens when you convince creativity that you care?

Recent trip to magic Kingdom’s Emporium.

Focus and discipline will reward you when you least expect it.

Creativity knows you care, and rewards you, when you embrace it like a trusted friend.

Yesterday’s run was cut short because of time. A five mile run became meaningful and motivating when it was approached differently than in the past.

What if i could run it in less than 40 minutes? This would require a level of focus and effort rarely accomplished outside of an organized race. Bottomline it was motivating enough to accomplish something cool… 38:36.

After the first warmup mile, the last four miles averaged 7:24. Never saw that coming.

We write our own scripts

What is possible lies dormant (and possibly dies for good) if the scripts in our head tell us to stop thinking about big, hairy, audacious goals.

Last night was the 11th straight night of eight hours sleep.

The last time this happened was, um…sorry, can’t recall the last time.

Do you consider your body a temple?

Orange County Convention Center
Orange County Convention Center along yesterday’s running route.

Do you consider your body a temple?

Silently ask yourself:

  1. My body is a temple housing everything keeping me alive.
  2. My body is an abandoned warehouse, housing long forgotten memories of my youth.
