She Summed It Up Rather Well

Just yesterday, they were talking as I walked up, “I hate him”. And they both laughed.

They were “kidding” as they talked about how fit I am. It’s simply the reality that makes up my day. I’ve come to understand that it will probably never go away. You know what it is?

I’m the kind of person people love to hate. At 51, when you do things like this, you get the predictable response.

It’s comical to me, because when I started, I was pathetic.

He Asked Me Yesterday

He leaned over and said, “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure”, I said without hesitating, so I stopped typing on the keyboard and turned his way.

He continued, “One of my bucket list items is to do a race and I’m not sure what distance to choose”.

I suggested a 5k, and gave him Track Shack’s website. He’ll walk his first 5k, and if he’s really lucky, he’ll become motivated to do another.

One Of The Benefits

One of the benefits to exercising regularly, and consistently eating a sensible, well-balanced diet, is that the focus and discipline required, as well as the tenacity to never give up, is transferable.

Transferable?

Yes. These traits can be nurtured into habits, and habits, ultimately, make us who we are.

But you already knew that, right?

Never get bored with the basics. Never.

Man She Can Cook

Want to eat a healthier diet?  Who doesn’t, right?  Duh!

Well, it’s hard to do, that’s why so many of us, myself included, don’t.

However, I have been very impressed watching a friend develop herself into an extraordinary internet, radio and TV presence.

Her daughter and our son have attended the same school for several years.  We see each other at the school functions and sometimes in the local community.

Where I see her most though is Facebook.  And today it comes as no surprise.  She’s a Guest Blogger for the Orlando Sentinel Food Section.
