Hiking is fun

Cigarettes
Love hiking. Hate smoking. Have done both for a long time and hiking is better.

There’s this entrepreneur and thought leader that made a splash a decade or so ago with his book, The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth.

He’s one of only a handful of people i subscribe to their daily email (or weekly; his is weekly. Btw, Seth’s is daily M-F).

He recently added photos to his weekly newsletter which changed his platform, to me anyway.

What i admire, or am intrigued about mostly, is his writing.

The only reason i haven’t unsubscribed is because, i believe, he’s a brilliant writer. It’s intoxicating to read his take on everyday stuff. Like a mind-reader-freak or something.

And today’s ’emailed newsletter’ inspired me to write this post.

**Noteworthy is the recent ‘writer’s flood’ on my end. Blogging like my life depends on it. It doesn’t. But maybe it does to the Universe.

Anyway, how i want to respond to his newsletter content is this…

Chris, wtf, you talk a great story. You have an amazing gift my friend. Have known this all along. Since we met at the Denver Rainmaker Conference. And please know i obsess over how our physical health (and, without condition, our mental, spiritual, work-life and home-life too), influence our personal vibrancy.

Have heard you repeatedly, consistently, literally relentlessly write about possibility, impact, transformational action, creativity, unconventionality.

And after reading this, i’m nearing a final inflection point with you:

When are you committing to physical vibrancy?

It’s the same thing as professional vibrancy (writing, speaking, consulting), don’t cha know!?

Put up or shut up.

Humbly submitting a free consultation…

Ps. You (and everyone) probably don’t know my goal is to rattle the cage of everyone listening to me. Why? If you walk away thinking the same way you did before the keynote speech, you didn’t need to read or listen to what i wrote or said.

Peace be with you. Peace is with me. Otherwise, you (or anyone) would never be reading this now.

How cool is that?!

Lane 8 Travels Again

Lane 8 is on the move.  No, not to a Master’s Track and Field Meet.  Good guess though.

Traveling to give a speech.  That’s what I do.  I’m a professional speaker.

Actually, I’ll speak anywhere to anyone, as long as it’s something I’m passionate about.  Church, Parenting, Children’s Religious Education, Boy Scouts, Home Owner’s Association, Master’s Track and Field, Wellness, Fitness, Health, Mid Life Celebration, Impossible Goals, Blogging, Social Media, Social Networking, Addiction, Behavior Modification, Gardening.

So anyway, until social media policies are better defined, it is incumbent on employees to do their best with the interpretation of general guidelines. There are so many employees who where out ahead of corporate social media policies.  So now, these companies have to play “catch up” to reign in what was never defined.

This will take some time, and companies are being decently patient, by allowing their employees to make the changes that the new guidelines call out. Facebook, LinkedIn, My Space, Blogs, Websites, You Tube, Flickr, Posting Comments, Chat Rooms, personal email – the list is endless.

It’s smart business if you ask me.  And just like anything else, including our health, the sooner we start, generally speaking, the sooner we see results.
