Peeking at Christmas presents

New Year’s resolutions have the power to transform people. Few believe it. But what about the few who do? What did they do, and what are they doing that defies the odds?

The secret is to quit telling ourselves the same bull crap lies we’ve learned to tell ourselves through repetition and observation.

We should always have a compelling goal in front of us. One that makes our efforts to do things, when we’d rather not, strong enough to exercise anyway.

There are obviously going to be unforeseen set backs. These are often stimulating enough to motivate us to keep going.

Too many curveballs though and it gets old.

There is something about making progress and having fun with chasing a goal that is inspiring.

Hoping for that to reappear.

Just imagine for a moment day dreaming about life and what you believe to be some of life’s critical success factors…

Do you fight to stay true to them?

Does it require you to be creative to keep from slipping?

Funny how easy it is to be creative and persevere when we believe these ideals are critical.

If we didn’t believe they were critical, we wouldn’t have to embrace them.

And if we don’t embrace them, we have a great excuse for quitting.

“It’s too hard.”
