How many times in one practice can we want to quit?

We got there early. Intentionally.

His shirt, and everyone’s shirt, was soaked.

How many times in one practice can we want to quit?

At least a dozen.

But he didn’t.

One day at a time is more than a theory.

It may be the only successful way to persevere for a lifetime.

The long way is the short cut.

You owe it to yourself because its your responsibility

quote about quitting
From Facebook this morning.

Fact: Life is generally overwhelming.

Not many people know my book’s hidden message is about finding ways to overcome the never-ending temptations to quit (at anything, not just running).

If you could use a short, easy to read “pocket coach”, click here for a free preview of the first couple pages (on Amazon).

Are you finding small wins with the relentless temptation to quit?

golf tournament in Orlando
Golf is a decent activity, the challenge is the ability to do it frequently enough to matter.

My Son and i are no longer jogging together because this semester he is taking Personal Fitness which is five days a week and he is also a member of the Track & Field team. Coach Williams has them practice six days a week.

The fact that our Son hasn’t asked for permission to quit is remarkable.

Driving him to practice this Saturday morning felt surreal.

The long way is the short cut.

Try to win more than you lose

Florida State HS Basketball state finals
Seconds before tip off yesterday.

Try to win more than you lose. No gym workout yesterday. Had hoped yesterday’s “rest day” could have substituted for a make-up gym workout day.

No go.

Too much to do, too little time.

i did, however, catch a nice nap.

Rest trumped activity.

Sometimes our gifts are disguised as “failure”.

Running trumps the gym

Balance and wellness keynote speakers
This blog is about our body, the temple housing everything keeping us alive.

Running trumps the gym. When my schedule, or energy, allows for only one, i default to running. Probably because i don’t have to drive a car to accomplish it.

Hopefully, a gym workout will fit into today’s normal “rest” mode.
