Your job is to love your health

Apgar Village
Coffee and ice cream. Coffee to pick ourselves up because we are tired. Ice cream to calm our nerves and provide us relief from our pain.

Your job is to love your health.

If you don’t love your health and you are easily equipped with reasons excuses reasons why you don’t, you have a huge opportunity to slowly transform your life.

i asked him to go on a second walk

Teddy Bears in a car
Ten steps from Buddha, we almost didn’t see this because of the reflection with the trees and sky.

Shortly after our hour walk from Muhlenberg, i asked our son to go on another walk.

We are not getting any exercise.

Walking at least five miles somehow feels like a decent compromise.

Later last night as we watched the 51st CMA awards…conversation among the four 55+ adults…

The 57-year-old doesn’t sleep well. His cousin, a few years older, doesn’t either.

The fairly common habit of using TV to fall asleep (unintentionally) in your living room in the early evening.

It’s dangerous.

One evening turns into two, turns into three, turns into a month, then four months, then a lifetime.

The ripple effect is literally disastrous.

Dig in and fight back.

As if your life depends upon it.

It literally does.

Dear luck and karma…

reality of our choices
Does life build down to three simple choices. No, there’s a fifth choice – willing and able.

If luck and karma bless me today, i’ll get to go for a healthy walk with my Family.

Health is wealth. – Grammy Felegy

Your health defines you

filet mignon
Last night’s dinner was a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich, made from stuff i bought on the way to Tampa two days ago.

Your health defines you.

Your level of wellness drives what you do or don’t do to define your health.

And by define, i mean define.

Well aware of disease and other genetic factors.

So i’m not talking about weight and that garbage.

Do you floss your teeth every night before bed?

The diseases and genetics that stop a person from grabbing some floss and spending a few minutes to do it are, well, i can’t think of any.

You know what really scares me?

How few people practice strong health habits.

Walking, eating decently, sleeping adequately, some strength exercises, some stretching, some core work, and finally, the highest priority – being crystal clear on finding something that motivates them for life.
