Don’t Complicate Things

Simplified or Paralyzed?
Simplified or Paralyzed?

One of the secrets I’ve learned is that it’s better to simply get started and do, rather than worry and wait.

Yeah, at risk with a business card as “unprofessional” as this is that people won’t take you seriously.

However, what’s also at risk with some really slick, professional business cards is they will also get neglected, not because they aren’t professional, but rather because they’re boring.

Many people think if they do things a certain way, then everything else will fall into place.

Maybe. If you work for an established organization.

And maybe if all the critical tools and resources – marketing, legal, human resources, community relations, public relations, media relations, finance, advertising, hiring, organizational structure, vision, mission, brand, etc – have long been established.

Maybe, but, if you’ve ever dreamed of being an entrepreneur, you are in for a rude awakening.

Same goes for health.

Here’s to hoping your phone never rings in 2010 with this, “Honey, it’s for you. It’s your wake-up call.”

Lane 8 Succeeds Due to Failure

Lane 8 is successful because Lane 8 is a failure.

Huh?  Exactly.

I could try and explain it to you, but you already know what I’m talking about, don’t you?  If you are confused, this 30-second You Tube video should clear it up:

There, that’s the point of this Lane 8 message today. We succeed in proportion to our willingness to fail.

Fearing failure is a sure fire way to have success elude you.  Who wants that?

Motivation Fascinates Me

Does motivation fascinate you?

Do you have any motivational strategies or tactics you’d like to share?

Do you think about motivation:

  1. All the time
  2. Sometimes
  3. Never

You know what the most contagious thing in the world is?

Here’s a hint.  The number two all-time most contagious thing in the world is a lack of enthusiasm.

Enough About Tiger Already

The man is human.  Enough about Tiger Woods already.  Can we move on?

Are you ready?

I mean, for the New Year?

Okay, are you ready for December?  It starts tomorrow.

This gives everyone who needs it, 31 more days until the New Year starts.  A new year, a new beginning.

Seriously, if you are not going to focus on your health this coming year, there is only one simple question.

“Why not?”

Sorry if this sounds pushy.  It’s the way I’ve learned to talk to myself. Once I accepted the truth that it ain’t ever gonna be easy, and that I’ll have to talk like this until I die, well, it started to get easier.

PS.  Here’s a surprise. Who doesn’t like surprises? Driving home yesterday from a meeting, my son and I were surprised at the new road-side circus.

Exercise Fitness Wellness

Exercise.  Fitness.  Wellness.  Flexibility.  Strength.  Cardiovascular.

Blood pressure. Resting heart rate. Good cholesterol.  Bad cholesterol. Body Mass Index.  Triglycerides.

Those words should mean something.  So should these.

Determination.  Perseverance. Tenacity. Hope. Dreams. Persistence. Motivation.  Inspiration.  Courage.

Focus.  Discipline.  Results.  Good habits.  Bad habits.  Dreams. Goals. Success.

If not today, when?  It’s up to you.  Always has been.  Always will be.  Carpe diem.
