Four more days of cold and excuses (pick one)

Delta travel app
Heading out in two hours for a four-day trip.

Four more days of cold and excuses (pick one).

Guess who used to own www.ExcuseWhisperer.com ?

i let it go.

Too many domain names.

Too many ideas.

Not enough time.

Did that just sound like an excuse?

Bottomline, it’s gonna be cold on this trip.

What do you notice and why, and do you like what you see?

In the picture you can tell who it is. Originally in person, i couldn’t.

Today’s bike ride to the gym is going to be chilly.

Shirtless rides are over for the next five months, until March.

Our home windows will go up today, during the day.

And, before i forget, when i weighed myself an hour ago, i weigh what i did as a High School senior.

Oh , and one more thing, we fly at noon tomorrow for my 40th High School reunion.

Serendipity is a real thing.

i can’t really means i won’t

Chocolate milk carton
All i drink these days is water, hot water, and milk (sometimes it’s chocolate, but never at home).

Can’t and won’t.

These two get used incorrectly all the time.

i can’t stick to my diet.

i can’t find the motivation to go to the gym.

i can’t get enough sleep.

i can’t find the discipline to eat better.

There are exceptions to every rule.

It’s highly unlikely that you are one of them.

It’s not that you can’t.

It’s that you won’t.

It’s too hard.

Some of my neighbors are alcoholics.

i know, i’m an alcoholic too.

And we used to spend all our free time socializing (drinking) together.

Then i became a dad.

Probably the hardest thing i’ve ever done.

Changed my i won’t to i can.

Can you intelligently (and convincingly) explain why you aren’t exercising?

High school physical night
Last night the High School offered $25 student athlete physicals in the gym after school. About 75% of the student body participates in athletics.

How long do you plan to live?

Can you intelligently (and convincingly) explain why you aren’t exercising?

Do you plan to start?

Why not?

And if yes…

When do you plan to start exercising?

Back to how many years you think you’ll live.

Do you suppose you’ll be healthier if you started gradually and then eventually, say in a year or two, you kept with it forever?

Does this change any of your previous answers?

There is no escaping discomfort

wearing a box on your head
A box on our head would be uncomfortable if we had to wear it daily.

There is no escaping discomfort.

Are we obligated to embrace discomfort?

Know what happens when we embrace discomfort?

We become the pilot of our ship.

The time passes, but we are the captain – the one in command.

We get to choose whether we are uncomfortable with the daily grind that’s required to live with (intentionally) better health choices.

Failing to make great health choices makes us a victim of poor choices.

Why the heck would anyone sign up for a lifetime of that?

Oh wait, i know.

Pleasure, weakness, distraction, procrastination, fear.
