One, two, or both.

As we age, it’s common for our minds to stay sharp – as if we were teens – with little conscious effort.

As we age, our body doesn’t preserve itself similarly. The best we can do is to work hard to slow the decline of our physical strength, endurance, flexibility, and core. This is influenced by what we eat, how we sleep, and most importantly, by our tireless, daily motivation.

There are exceptionally fit older humans. You can be one of them too. i am.

If you see yourself as anything other than physically vibrant it’s because of the one simple choice you justify every day.

The choice you make to justify that the daily effort required for vibrant habits is more uncomfortable to you than the daily discomfort from settling for a less than vibrant lifestyle.

Here’s some wisdom from a 60-year old: the magic of compound interest will grow exponentially in the intentional, or the neglectful, daily choices you make during your first four or five decades.

Bank on compound interest, whether you invest or borrow time.

My awareness of health dates back to 8th grade.

That’s when i decided i wanted to become a Gym Teacher, or as it’s politically correct to say, a Health and Physical Education (PE) Teacher.

In 1977, i entered West Chester State College to earn a BS in Health and PE.

Nutrition.

Exercise.

Habits.

Wellness.

Teaching in public schools.

The next generation of adults.

How to live a healthy life.

So yeah, 8th grade was in 1971-1972.

Is that really 47 years ago?

Looks like my efforts to change the world failed.

The good news, i have been able to consistently change myself to become healthy and well.

Perhaps, if i’m lucky, i can help change two others to not conform to society’s poor health and habits and rituals.
