In the category of “who gives a crap”, this is definitely a contender. I ran a 6:23 mile last week. Slow and steady wins the race. Are you progressing slowly and steadily in pursuit of your health goals? There’s a reason you’re hearing about the mile time.
Running has been moving cautiously upward – faster. This is a great feeling. After a decade of chronic foot pain, my feet haven’t felt this good since 2001.
When I write something like this, the hope is that you can say something like:
my exercise is going well too, or…
I’m still working diligently, patiently, to overcome my injury, or…
it’s inspiring to see someone in their 50’s still making wellness a priority, or…
if he can do it, I can do it, or…
I want to be a great example for my family too, or…
jeff doesn’t use a busy schedule, travel, or anything else as an excuse to quit, or…
Have said it before, am saying it again, and will say it until I die. The single best way to overcome exercise inertia is to figure out if you want to live your “wellness” life as an example or a warning.
