Live and let live, body

primitive rock carving at Epcot attraction
Photo from Epcot’s Moana experience. Using it for the “oh my” interpretation. Oh my that’s a lot to think about (below)…

Let people behave the way they want to behave.

Move as much or as little as suits you.

Eat as much or as little as suits you.

Sleep as much or as little as suits you.

Stretch as much or as little as suits you.

Strengthen your core as much or as little suits you.

Find a million ways to stay motivated, or don’t worry about your motivation. Do what suits you.

Summer solstice 2025, body

purple flower fireweed
Fireweed. This photo is from behind Glacier Park Lodge, next to MidVale Creek.

Fireweed, Beargrass, Glacier Lily, and Paintbrush are among my favorite Glacier flowers.

Daisies still reign as supreme favorite.

Currently playing Bob Marley on every Home Pod.

Windows open.

Fall’s semi-tropical plants offer a rainbow of yellow, reds, greens, oranges, whites, and pinks.

Worth noting all these colors are year round. Perhaps then, we could consider Summer Solstice colors a sort of permanent vacation.

Change what you see, body

Snow-covered mountains
Winter 2024, descending into the Flathead Valley.

You know the drill, right?

When you change what you see, what you see changes.

Change your health habits, change what you see (and feel).

The need to grow, body

Waterfront view from a hotel room balcony at night
We lived here for weeks. A 1.5-mile walk to the Pacific Ocean.

Here we are, 14 months post retina-repair surgeries (there were two, 3-weeks apart). And a several-month Summer (2024) Glacier trip. Not to mention Cataract surgery in May. And you know what?

i’ve become flabby.

Thought Glacier would shred me and tone me.

Not this Summer.

i played it safe by backing off the gas peddle. Less miles. Lower intensity.

It’s literally disrespectful, if i’m being real with myself. This is my worst physical state in 25 years.

The great news?

i’m alive and lucid.

How cool is that?

i’m growing by adding this unprecedented life experience to my life resume.

Favorite exercise? Body

Apple iPhone alarm
A growth mindset easily sees sleep as an exercise.

Favorite exercise?

Running.

And when unable to run, walking.
