Walking home from the gym and a car accident

Car accident
Walking home from gym yesterday, 9am.
Car accident
Seemed under control so i walked over. i walk left at the curve to continue home but i went over check it out.
Car accident
The driver is to my right, out of photo on purpose. He fell asleep. He drove past his home which was just 200 meters away from the curve. He was uninjured.

Walking home from the gym and a car accident. The driver was asleep as he passed his home on the straight residential road.

He awoke at the curve but it was too late to navigate the curve.

We both reflected on how he was lucky to not have been on the Interstate where he had been 15 minutes prior.

He could have died.

Might have taken a few lives with him.

In the blink of an eye.

What’s a much slower potential disaster is the long-term effect of not exercising, not habitually resting adequately, nor getting balanced nutrition.

It’s a slow death i reckon.

No one notices.

It’s the American way.

How much desire do you possess to regain control?

Delta Customer survey
Received this yesterday, after receiving a cordial email from Delta with a restitution offer that was nice but doesn’t match my expectations.

How did you sleep last night?

Does the way you slept last night serve you incredibly well?

If yes, congratulations on your habits and rituals.

If no, how much desire do you possess to regain control of a great night’s sleep?

If you think you will live a few more decades, do the math on how your sleep patterns, your sleep habits, and your sleeping position will impact your mental health, physical health and the curvature of your spine.

And then there’s this notion of being a role model for your child(ren) that it’s important to take care of yourself.

The beauty of a decent night’s rest

Employee engagement speakers
Employee engagement speakers? No. Props to remind me to thank the people who made yesterday’s event (and my success) possible.

Employee engagement speakers
(L-R) Mark is with Robert Half, Jungle Jeff, and Esteban who is a Speakers Consultant with Thinking Heads (my new and exclusive booking agent).

Employee engagement speakers
In this photo, we had just met personally the previous day. Prior to yesterday, we had spoken briefly via Whatsapp and email.

Employee engagement speakers
My client’s boss Ramon, the CEO of Trabajando.com Chile.

Got nearly 8 hours of sleep last night in the Delta One cabin.

Heavenly.

Restful.

Woke up a few minutes ago.

Pushed the button to convert the bed into a chair.

Easy peasy.

Writing this from 35k feet.

The night before in Santiago, Chile’s W Hotel, got about 5 hours.

Not enough but it was such better quality because i was flat on a bed.

Running on empty

Rounding down to 3 hours.

Arrival at 3:44am to Kalispell International Airport.

Running on empty.

Three hours of sleep the other night.

And today is the first day back in the gym after an 11-day absence.

No shortage of exercise in those 11 days, just no gym in Glacier National Park.

Hitting snooze is a symptom

iPhone clock
Yikes.

Hitting snooze is a symptom.

For what?

Not getting enough sleep.

Even after eight hours last night, this morning i hit snooze three times.

An extra 27 minutes of sleeping – nine minutes per snooze.

i never do this, even though i spent from my 18th birthday to my 40th birthday doing it daily.

Why this morning?

For seven nights in Glacier National Park last week, i averaged six hours of sleep, including the final night getting only 4.5 hours.
