An unplanned epic run

Running near Orlando homeless
She “lives” on the sidewalk in an affluent part of town. See center left on sidewalk.

Everything is connected. Visibly. Invisibly.

Whether we stop to think about it or not.

Four miles into yesterday’s run, this was the second photo taken. A “rear-view mirror” image so to speak.

Have bought her a meal before, when she “lived” by the gas station.

Meanwhile, the run became epic. Longest in 30 years.

Third time’s a charm?

Disney, Conference, Speakers

(photo: Christmas concert.)

Progress is simple. One foot in front of the other. Day after day.

Would be lying if the thought of another Track comeback in 2015 wasn’t a decently burning goal right now, December 17, 2014.

Will being retired and self-employed make it easier to train?

Just for the record, the past two year’s comeback attempts have been defeated due to injuries and competing priorities.

Maybe at the end of the day, the real blessing isn’t competition and results, but simply the drive to keep going year after year.

Disney University Keynote Speakers
A few days after retiring from Disney.

Ran to DU (Disney University) yesterday for the first time as a retiree.

It was cool. Really, really cool.

Why?

Because of three realities: the reality that you live close enough to do it, that you have permission to do it, and that you are retired.
