Creativity triumphed over boredom

Disney motivational speaker
Yesterday, a random find on Pinterest. i went from almost missing a workout to creating a breakthrough.

Three days ago i didn’t feel like working out at the gym.

Plus, i almost turned around to walk home, halfway to the gym.

Somehow i mustered enough determination to keep walking.

From not “feeling it”, a miracle happened.

Walked 25% (5 miles versus 4) farther than normal, and did gym exercises i haven’t done in seven months.

All of this began as, “i don’t feel like walking or doing a gym workout.”

Yesterday’s gym workout was the first time in seven months i did the same level of workout i used to do at the previous gym.

Bottom line, i added back exercises i hadn’t done in half a year because the day i wasn’t feeling it, i compromised, got creative, and improvised a workout that felt interesting enough to triumph over boredom.

i like walking to the new gym

i like walking to the new gym.

Three miles round trip if i make a bee-line.

Longer if i get creative.

While writing the final parts of the seven Disney Business books is this Summer’s goal in Glacier National Park, hiking will be the main inspiration source to fuel my spirit to do the impossible – write 7 Disney Business Books simultaneously.

After a dozen years, a potentially transformational change

Life tempts us to remain in our comfort zone.

And it makes perfect sense.

Right?

Comfort.

Who doesn’t like and appreciate comfort?

It’s one of the easiest ways to manage the heavy load we humans must carry with all our adult responsibilities.

The crazy thing, however, is that our current comfort zone is the cumulation of multiple discoveries we experienced when we were searching, exploring, and seeking – as younger, less-set-in-our-ways adults.

Still searching, exploring, and seeking?

Nice.

April Fools Day 2018 is another new beginning

Disney screen shot
New gym. New routine, What will be lost? What will be gained?

April Fools Day 2018 (yesterday) is another new beginning.

After 26 years of living in our current home, we finally have a gym one mile away.

And after 12 years driving 25 miles round trip to Golds Gym, the commute is down to two miles.

Making uncomfortable choices is a big part of controlling our thoughts.

Make being uncomfortable your comfort zone.

Go.
