One, two, or both

aging and attitude
They are 100+ years old and talk like they are 17.

One, two, or both.

As we age, it’s common for our minds to stay sharp – as if we were teens – with little conscious effort.

As we age, our body doesn’t preserve itself similarly. The best we can do is to work hard to slow the decline of our physical strength, endurance, flexibility, and core. This is influenced by what we eat, how we sleep, and most importantly, by our tireless, daily motivation.

There are exceptionally fit older humans. You can be one of them too. i am.

Never too old for this?

Disney Speakers jeff
Our clocks are always ticking. Over-focus on healthy habits that we used to under-focus on or ignore.

You’re never too old to become younger.  – Mae West

Finding this harder to do as i age

Disney Motivational Speakers
Christmas evening Family bike ride, yesterday. Shirt buttoned to top because of the cool crisp air. PS. Photo taken while bicyccling.

Finding this harder to do as i age.

What?

Understand (and accept) why the human species, in general, does not:

  1. Exercise cardiovascularly
  2. Exercise for strength
  3. Eat properly
  4. Rest well
  5. Stretch
  6. Exercise core
  7. Get and stay motivated

Can someone explain this to me please?

Totally feeling like a misfit, outcast, crazy, freak.

To be honest, it totally does not bother me.

Talking (writing) about it publically helps people process their thoughts and strengthen their understanding of and conviction to an intentional life.

Because of this phenomenon, i kept writing on day 101 of a 100-day self-imposed writer’s bootcamp in 2009.

It’s also the reason i haven’t missed a day writing five daily, differently-themed posts, since April 1, 2009.

Crystalized intelligence – all butts will sag

Disney University
Yesterday, November 5, 83 degrees at Disney University.

Crystalized intelligence – all butts will sag.

The Magic with our Golden Years, if we invested well, is that aging will go much better for us than if we hadn’t invested decently in cardio, strength, nutrition, rest, flexibility, core, and motivation.

If you have yet to reach your Golden Years, here’s to decent investing.

Is it ever too late to invest more?

Slow and steady decline

Glacier National Park glaciers
The Glaciers are dying.

Slow and steady decline.

It happens in nature.

We are part of nature.

And so it happens to us.

Naturally.

Wait.

Have humans inadvertently found ways to accelerate their decline?

Is it possible to dance with nature and extend the life expectancy?

But if we can’t influence longevity, can we have a say in the quality of life – you know, the notion of personal vibrancy?
