Door to door, 19 hours, assuming no glitches

19-hour travel day will set a PR

Door to door, 19 hours, assuming no glitches. Three flights on United, an airline I have no status with.

The reason we utilize loyalty programs is for the love we receive from the business. Sorry Delta, out of my control.

Leaving for airport at 6am.

Estimating entering my hotel room for sleep 19 hours later.

Is that a decent excuse for not running today?

Traveling and busy schedules will not stop this from happening

Lolo Jones story
We all understand the benefits of honest work for a worthy goal – wellness

Traveling and busy schedules will not stop this from happening. The 2013 comeback to healthy high-level competitive running.

And to be clear, high-level is the result of 14 years of preparation. Not genes, not luck, not talent.

Hoping my story inspires you to keep writing yours.

Today is my last run on continental United States soil for 12 days.

Courage is hard to see, except when it isn’t, like here

Finding motivation doesn’t have to be hard. Yet we also know it won’t always be easy. The key is to understand when to up our game and when to ease up.

Too much is as dangerous as not enough.

Yesterday was my first Track meet since last summer. And if you count these two, they are the only meets since 2009.

When we stop changing, we’re finished.

I either lost the 800 M50-54 by a couple hundredths of a second or won it by that much.

Either way, the motivational fire has been stoked.

Hoping all of you are stoked too.

Keeping the embers hot so we feel the motivation to keep going

Two Black Lab puppies
Puppies really don’t fuel motivation, but they sure are cute

Comeback 2013 is in full swing today with this event – the Central Florida Gliders 21st annual Spring Track Classic at Lake Brantley High School.

The challenge is the 800 is after lunch, in hot humid Florida weather. Traveling business folk (like me) normally run before the sun comes up, with planes to catch and people to see.

Keeping the embers hot so we feel the motivation to keep going, no?

There’s always a good reason to do this

orlando Orange Grove closed for season sign
Exercise is closed for the season (how long is our season?)

There’s always a good reason to do this:

There’s always a good reason to not exercise.

How long does “closed for the season” last?

A lifetime?

Seriously, that’s what it feels like when we look around.
