Can exercising be the manner?

Been getting 8 hours consistently. Blessed.

It’s not too far fetched to think that exercising can be the manner in which we experience the entire day.

Thank God as kids

Probably 10 years old. In front of our cousin’s house.

We ran everywhere. Why? Walking took too long.

A decades-long career in a Fortune 500 company can easily push running everywhere off the table. There’s literally no time to go outside and play. So we don’t. For our entire career.

Thank God as kids, we divinely avoided this…

Knowing how awkward running is to most of us now, imagine if we started out thinking like that as kids.

Math doesn’t lie

Lane 8 got its domain name from the impossible story about the worst lane and finishing last.

Incremental progress adds up over time. So does incremental decline.

This reminds me how i began running at age 40.

Shuffle-jogged to our neighbor’s mailbox.

Next day, repeat.

One mailbox a day the first week.

Two mailboxes a day the second week.

Three mailboxes a day the third week.

Mailboxes are 100 meters apart.

Took one month (four mailboxes a day) to shuffle-jog the distance of one lap around a high school track.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Endangered species, likes

Long ago, at least a decade i’d say, i removed WordPress’s blog comment feature. Why? It’s a backdoor for ill-intentioned people.

Likes are a social media algorithm enhancer (generally). Likes provide a real, or false, incentive for people to “like” your posts. Even if they don’t. Not a good vibe for me.
