High School sports annual passes
Yesterday: Purchased two annual passes for our High School’s athletic events.

158.0/7.0

It’s been awhile since i’ve gone two consecutive nights without eight hours sleep.

Let’s see what happens tonight.

Every morning i weigh myself twice, to ensure accuracy.

i log that, plus the number of hours i slept.

Using the Notes App on the iPhone, it gets loaded into the cloud and it can be accessed from any of my devices.

It’s permanent and a paperless record – to help me see progress as well as identify causes and effects.

Find a million ways to stay motivated.

Focused on sleep because it was the easiest

Yes (again), it’s that breathtaking.

Focused on sleep because it was the easiest.

Almost every night, i was able to get eight hours of sleep.

In the big picture, without regular exercise, and indulging in way too much sugar, winning 10 out of 12 nights with 8 hours somehow felt good.

i asked him to go on a second walk

Teddy Bears in a car
Ten steps from Buddha, we almost didn’t see this because of the reflection with the trees and sky.

Context. front bumper just feet away from road.

More context.

Shortly after our hour walk from Muhlenberg, i asked our son to go on another walk.

We are not getting any exercise.

Walking at least five miles somehow feels like a decent compromise.

Later last night as we watched the 51st CMA awards…conversation among the four 55+ adults…

The 57-year-old doesn’t sleep well. His cousin, a few years older, doesn’t either.

The fairly common habit of using TV to fall asleep (unintentionally) in your living room in the early evening.

It’s dangerous.

One evening turns into two, turns into three, turns into a month, then four months, then a lifetime.

The ripple effect is literally disastrous.

Dig in and fight back.

As if your life depends upon it.

It literally does.

These two parameters add purpose to your life

bike ride at sunrise
Yesterday morning, just after sunrise, biking 20k to Golds Gym. Notice the length of the left corner tree shadow. By this time i’ve been up since 5AM, wrote 5 blog posts, made breakfast for my Family, drove Son to school.

Can’t imagine what life would be like without a set bedtime and awakening time every day.

These two parameters add purpose to your life and give you something to focus on that signals the start of an exciting day, and the end of a wonderfully productive and joyful day.

The proverbial starting line and finish line.

To not have something worth waking up early for feels like you’re cheating yourself, your potential.

To not have a promise to yourself to call it a day and reward yourself with adequate rest for the coming day seems juvenile to me.
