Sleep is a commonly neglected battle

Yesterday i caught the time at a fun time. Getting decent rest is not as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Sleep is a commonly neglected battle. Caffeine (and other drug) consumption, unlimited entertainment options, stress, pressure – over time – slowly erode our sleep habits. As CEO of You, Inc, this is your responsibility to address and correct. Even if it takes years.

PS. This is me talking to me. The battle to overcome excuses and never-ending challenges is real.

Slept in until 6am yesterday. Why mention it? Because being intentional about our health means we over manage certain things we used to under manage or ignore.

Sleep is one of them.

While sleeping in didn’t get me to eight hours, it did provide one more hour than waking up at 5am, which would have been better for getting my writing done.

What is possible lies dormant (and possibly dies for good) if the scripts in our head tell us to stop thinking about big, hairy, audacious goals.

Last night was the 11th straight night of eight hours sleep.

The last time this happened was, um…sorry, can’t recall the last time.

The final explosion as car pulled into driveway.

Amazing 12-day streak of eight-hour sleep nights interrupted. Arriving home after 10pm concluding an 18-hour travel day and turning around for 4am trip to airport for Cheryl.

Not Orlando airport, but Sanford airport – twice as far away.

Four-and-a-half hours sleep is staggeringly different.
