Now that you’ve officially retired, body

The AV check, March 8, 2026. A Sunday.

Now, i’m officially retired not only from Disney in 2014, but also from my own personal business for the past 12 years.

Cheryl and i spent today (a Sunday) finalizing travel plans.

A rest day from exercising today, we poured our creative mental, spiritual, and organizational energy into committing to Europe and the Northeast United States.

Ps. This Summer’s Glacier trip has been locked and loaded for a year. “Only” a month in 2026.

Sea Day #3, body

Figuring 5 or 6 actual miles, not 22. The ship’s movement skews the tabulation. Subtracting 30 minutes for stationary workout. The rest was walking, in the 20-ish minute per mile pace.

Walked on water this week.

Monday thru Friday roughly 35 miles.

Good stuff.

Grateful.

Ps. Also enjoyed three 30-minute no-gym gym workouts (M-W-F).

Ocean sunrise from cruise ship
Things are starting to ‘cook’.
Island welcome sign
No one down there can see the brewing sunrise.

Turns out, i had a nice walk this morning. It was intentional.

Apple Watch fitness app
Seven miles on a cruise ship takes determination. Creativity to keep it interesting is key.

Also turns out Cheryl isn’t feeling well. So we will forgo this morning’s city tram tour. Play the hand you’re dealt is sage wisdom.

Amber Cove 9am-6pm, body

Daytime moon
The Ocean is impossible to ignore. The moon is easy to. That said, i’m consistently looking at the sky. It is not a common habit.
Arrived at Dominican Republic, 8:00am local time (7:00am ship time).
6-second video: The time change caught me off guard and made me late.
12-second video: Context for today’s port of call.

Chase the sun.

Seek the sun.

Bask in the sun.

This morning’s workout and walk were mostly inside the ship.

Why?

Because even in December, the sub-tropical weather can get uncomfortably hot.
