Diet is way more than food

Advent Health
Received this shirt along with a pay check.

Your “diet” is not only what you eat but what you:

  • Read, watch, listen to and who you hang out with.
  • What, who, and how you forgive, serve, and give thanks.
  • Your drive to improve, to teach, to learn, and to risk.
  • How you make decisions about what you reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Rob Peter to pay Paul?

Dancer
Atlanta airport, yesterday at 530am. Move (and eat) like it matters.

Rob Peter to pay Paul?

Does regular exercise feel like a free pass to eat whatever you want?

Does sleep take a back seat to exercise because it’s easy to rationalize that we are doing well since we regularly exercise more than most people we know?

Is it exercise or extra fries?

Note: lowest weight this morning since i can’t remember when. Competition weight is a unique feeling. Not too far from it.

Healthy is a lifestyle, not an initiative

wellness keynote speakers
Never get bored with the basics.

Do yourself a favor.

Never get bored with the basics.

Master them.

Have fun with them.

Don’t abandon them when the going gets tough.

And the going always gets tough in between the good weather.

Being well doesn’t stop life’s stormy weather.

Being well allows you to weather the storms significantly better than if you aren’t living well.

The joy and privilege of movement

working from home
Yesterday i wore the USA jacket during the bicycle ride to the 8am dentist appointment, anticipating it being cold inside. This photo captures the workday environment from 10am-5pm.

The joy and privilege of movement.

Taking that joy and that privilege for granted and waiting for “some day” to become physically vibrant again – like you were when you were a child – is a crime.

A crime.

If inactivity, poor eating habits, and poor sleeping habits were forced upon you, you’d feel cheated and you’d probably get angry.

Truth is, you’re probably forcing poor habits upon yourself, and that’s how you should feel, but you don’t.

Spectacular disregard may be what you want

Royal touch ups are required from time to time.

Do you have a spectacular disregard for being the center of attention?

What if you did?
