After dropping off our 2016 tax return paperwork, i drove to my Allergist for three monthly injections, then made a beeline for Sport Clips.

The relief i felt knowing the tax paperwork is almost a month ahead of the deadline (April 18 this year) did wonders for my wellness by slaying the silent killer – stress.

Three injections of allergens, monthly, boost my resistance to pollen which also enhances my wellness because i breathe easily and have none of the symptoms many struggle with in Spring.

Being pressed for time, the first thing i wanted to know at Sport Clips was where was i in the que – the waiting areas was full. The final photo answered the question beautifully. And again, my stress was reduced.

All of this took three hours.

It felt amazing to cross those items off as done, because i didn’t want to try to squeeze them into today’s (a Friday) schedule.

Remember how healthy you were in 1985? Found this participation patch last week while cleaning the garage. Completed the one-day, 170-mile ride in 1985 and 1986; the second and third years after moving permanently to Florida in 1984.

 

The attack on our attitude doesn’t end there, the attack also targets our physical wellbeing.

For example, since retiring from Disney in 2014, i’ve been exercising only three days a week.

However, keep in mind we are never taking a day off from rest, nutrition, and motivation.

Retired from Disney but still working hard

Tucked a pile of Christmas cards in my bicycle bag, rode to the end of the driveway, loaded them in the mailbox, then rode 25 miles roundtrip to Golds Gym and back.

 

Sometimes i think i’m spending too much time exercising and taking care to eat and sleep well.

And then i imagine life as a retiree.

What would i do with my time?

i’d spend a lot of it exercising, eating well, and investing in eight hours of sleep each night.

While retired from Disney, i’m still working hard to change the world.
