Nutrition

handwritten note
This image reads, “Movement is like medicine.” So is nutrition and rest.

Nutrition.

Nutrition is fuel.

Vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, hydration.

Ensure the temple housing everything keeping you alive is a well-oiled, well-fueled machine.

Wonderful and true cliche, “You are what you eat.”

Core

tough runner's planks
Revisiting this photo from a couple days ago. Why? Planks can be difficult. Not having good core strength is difficult too. Pick one. Note: Emma Coburn is a world-class distance runner.

Core.

Core strength emanates outward.

Core strength facilitates and enhances strength.

A strong core helps everything else be stronger.

A weak core causes everything else to be weaker.

Core is underrated and neglected.

Every world-class athlete focuses on their core as part of their larger skill.

Flexibility

Flexibility.

Bending and stretching improve our mobility.

Bending and stretching improve our functionality.

Who doesn’t want to age with great mobility and functionality?

Strength

Muscles move our body and administer all the physical functions we use to live.

Strength compliments stamina (cardio).

Strength…

We lift. We push. We pull.

Our heart beats. Our lungs inhale and exhale. Our bladder and bowels hold and eliminate.

Our physical capabilities are directly proportional to our strength.

Note: These physical capabilities become proportionately more important as you age. However, most of us won’t over-focus on our strength in our youth and middle age. Older age reveals a poignant truth and reality.

Cardio

Move like you mean it.

Humans are not rocks nor trees.

Humans are made to move.

This is easy to forget in a civilized, heavily-automated world.

Please don’t forget.
