Norms, body

Disney Leadership Podcast
.think .differently

Classic question for all ages, what is normal?

What is normal?

Who the heck knows?

Is normal pursuing physical vibrancy for an entire lifetime?

Is normal neglecting physical vibrancy for an entire lifetime?

Stereotypes, body

What are stereotypes? Why do they exist? How are they helpful? How are they harmful?

In 1999 at Disney Institute, i learned how to teach positive and negative stereotypes to global business leaders.

Everyone knows about negative stereotypes.

Few have successfully exploited positive stereotypes (branding) like the Walt Disney Company.

Stereotypes are true and untrue beliefs about something or someone.

Stereotypes exist because they help society filter repetitive patterns efficiently.

Stereotypes positively offer effortless reflexive responses and choices in daily life.

Stereotypes negatively offer untrue, harmful, indecent, and unwanted judgement on things and people.

Dogma, body

One last photo before leaving Glacier, from Apgar at the foot of Lake McDonald, a tradition.

What is dogma’s greatest benefit to humanity?

Perhaps, to me, dogma simply offers an historical reference point.

Let me ask again, “What is dogma’s greatest benefit to humanity?”

Google’s first responses offer a paradoxical opinion that dogma has negative influence over humanity, see those results here.

Rules, body

mop and bucket
Sanitation is good for humanity. There are rules about how health inspections can ensure rigorous standards.

Why are rules important?

This may be the dumbest question a sane human being can ask.

The better question…

What would the earth be like without rules?

Without…

Medical rules.

Food safety rules.

Hygiene rules.

Expectations, body

Expectations gap and unhappiness
Expectations gap and unhappiness.

Why are expectations important to share with the people you care about?

Expectations are life-context.

Context is king.

Miscommunication with yourself, and others, is the root of all your tension, fear, doubt.
