What if our Doctor gave us a health report card?

Let your report card be the health test results from your annual checkups.

And pop quizzes can be the blood pressure readings and heart rate checks you get at medical appointments – or the pharmacy blood pressure station.

You know how people can tell if you’re committed to wellness?

We watched A Wrinkle In Time yesterday at Disney’s AMC Theater complex at Disney Springs.

Let your wellness light shine brightly.

You are a beacon for others.

You are so deserving of the vibrancy you feel.

You find solace in your commitment to over-focus on your wellness compared to the way you used to under-focus on it, or ignore it completely.

You know how people can tell if you’re committed to wellness?

The same way people can tell if a business is committed to their wellness.

Metrics.

Basic business measurements.

In this case, it’s health metrics instead of business metrics.

The basics..

Resting heart rate.

Cholesterol.

Triglycerides.

Blood pressure.

Touch your toes.

How many pull ups, push ups, and sit ups can you do?

Walk 4-5 flights of stairs – how soon does your heart rate return to normal.

Do you lose your patience easily?

What are the main beverages you consume daily?

Do you use a snooze button to wake up?

How many calories do you get daily from processed foods?

How many grams of sugar do you consume daily?

How much water do you consume daily?

When was the last time you exercised consistently for five continuous years?

The list goes on and on.

You get the picture.

i never mentioned weight.

Why would i?

It doesn’t matter what a person weighs..

What matters are answers to the questions here.

How we honor that (or don’t honor that) is easily measured

Did this Disney Institute Leadership Keynote Speaker feel like running yesterday? No. Did he? Yes.

Dear blogger, your post seemed to target that body weight defines a person.

Weight is a metric like any other metric.

Shift gears for a second.

The number of children we have (or don’t have) can also be a metric.

Some metrics are easy for others to see.

Most aren’t.

Our body is a gift from God. A temple housing everything that keeps us alive.

How we honor that (or don’t honor that) is easily measured.

And yes, it’s a struggle, a battle, an on again off again thing – until one day it’s only an on again thing. Only.

Be well and remain amazed.

She said she doesn’t have a weight scale in her house

Belle and Lumiere at intimate Disney character greeting
What responsibility do we have to be honest with our friends? With ourselves?

She said she doesn’t have a weight scale in her house. A moment before she said someone had made her day by asking if she was losing weight. She said she has been trying for so long (years?), and was thrilled someone had noticed.

She also said when she goes to the doctor she closes her eyes when stepping on the scale.

So you weigh yourself like once or twice a year?

How can we improve what we do not measure?
