Can you do 10-20 push-ups?

Apple Watch
Yesterday, biked a 20-miler. Stopped midway to visit Magic Kingdom. Also walked 4-5 miles.

Can you do 10-20 push-ups?

How about pull ups, how many?

What about walking briskly, how many miles without stopping?

Knees locked, how close to the ground do your finger tips get?

(Knees locked, can you place your hands palm-down, flat on the ground? Yes.)

If your daily food intake where public record, do you feel like you eat with integrity?

If your sleep habits were public record, would you feel satisfied with what you and others see?

Hanging from a tree limb or other parallel bar, with knees locked and legs parallel with the ground, how long can you hold you feet out in front of you? If this was a viral video of you attempting this, how would you feel?

In none of these questions did weight come up. Not talking about weight. Weigh whatever you want…

But scoring poor to just ok in strength, stamina, core, flexibility, nutrition, rest and motivation – is it because you don’t want to be physically vibrant or because you don’t think you can?

Can’t and won’t are not the same.

It’s your life, do the reps, keep your fire burning.

It’s your biggest responsibility – self care.

Be an example, not a warning.

It can add up quickly

Was a Guest on Jody Maberry’s podcast two days ago and he shared what we did in 5 days n Glacier National Park. The first number is for steps taken. Flights up also equals flights down – in case it wasn’t obvious.

It can add up quickly.

The number of days, months, years that you consistently stay active.

Same with the number that you don’t.

Risk!

What’s the first thing you think of?

Totally a risk.

And an opportunity.

The only failure is staying inactive.

How do you guage your health?

car dashboard gauges
From our rental car a few days ago.

How do you guage your health?

What metrixcs do you use?

How often do you look at your gauges?

Are you happy with your answers?

There is only one correct answer (pass/fail if you will), “Yes!”.

Four months until college.

Find your own reasons for becoming passionate about your health.

Why?

You will be surrounded by people who do not think like this.

The peer-pressure will be overwhelming.

Stay up late. Eat daily desserts. Fries instead of veggies. Soda instead of milk or water. Play video games instead of going for a run and the gym. Etc. Etc.

PS. You will be in a unique position to influence and inspire others by your personal example. You can become the teacher.

Annual blood draw this morning

Walt Disney picking up trash
Walt was never a picture of excellent health. Not judging. And each of us has to decide what efforts we are committed to physically.

Annual blood draw this morning. Annual physical two days ago.

Yesterday and tomorrow, cardio, strength, stretching, and core.

Every day this week, every day period, focus on nutrition, sleep, and motivation, in addition to cardio, strength, flexibility, and core.

Twelve weeks in, holding at 8 mailboxes

Disney jeff
Rest and relaxation on a college hammock, two days ago.

Twelve weeks in, holding at 8 mailboxes.

Two laps around a high school track.

After three months.

Traditional metrics have us as failures.

What do you mean you’re only jogging for two laps?

Listen up mister, the real metric you should be celebrating is we are showing up for our 12th consecutive week – at 5:15AM and 6:15AM.
