What do you say to people when they don’t ask?

Running has been moving cautiously upward – faster. This is a great feeling. After a decade of chronic foot pain, my feet haven’t felt this good since 2001.

When I write something like this, the hope is that you can say something like:

  • my exercise is going well too, or…
  • I’m still working diligently, patiently, to overcome my injury, or…
  • it’s inspiring to see someone in their 50’s still making wellness a priority, or…
  • if he can do it, I can do it, or…
  • I want to be a great example for my family too, or…
  • jeff doesn’t use a busy schedule, travel, or anything else as an excuse to quit, or…
  • fill in the blank ________

When Was The Last Time You Felt Really Healthy?

The day I quit working out will be the healthiest I’ll ever be for the rest of my life. There is no physical way to get or stay stronger, nor to have better (or maintained) cardiovascular abilities, without exercise. Read my lips. None.

My feet are feeling the best they have in a decade. This potentially means something fun and exciting. Hope I don’t blow it. When was the last time you felt healthier than you have in years?

21 days is one thing, but 365? Come on, no way.

Good morning from Beaumont, Texas. Last night completing the audio visual check for this morning’s presentation, one of the men talked about the 21-day challenge his church does every January. It’s a cleansing process focused on spirituality, but complimented with physical cleansing.

It was so intriguing to hear him talk about eating healthy, sensibly, consistently. And how much better he already feels after just three days.

All I could think was – glad to see you’re not surprised. And then started to wonder what happens the other 344 days of the year.

How Is Our Health Like Learning How To Play A Musical Instrument

Every chance I get to skip a fast food joint is another little victory.

Practice, practice, practice. I’ve never played a musical instrument, but watched my Dad teach drum lessons in our living room growing up. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings Dad gave 30-minute lessons to hopeful young musicians. I see how my (health) success as a Boomer is directly related to my steady, committed practice, just like those young drummer boys.
