5 Lessons from a 3,652 consecutive writing days

Disney Keynote Speaker jeff noel
Ten years x 365 = 3,650. Then add two leap year days (Feb 29) and you have 3,652 consecutive days. There are hundreds of other posts in addition to the (3,652 x 5 =) 18,260.

5 Lessons from a 3,652 consecutive writing days:

  • Slow & steady is true
  • Balance is not a myth
  • Personal daily victory is key to thriving
  • All you have to do to be a writer is to write
  • Never expect a following (this sets you free)

Of course, there are more lessons. These are the first five that surfaced in less than a minute.

To the skeptics

To the skeptics.

And there were many…(i was one of the many)…

In a weird way, you helped fuel the vision and the drive to never miss a day. So, thank you for doubting, or more accurately, thank you for not caring.

Seven days to cake and ice cream

Note on selling Disney
Had to write it down or it would evaporate, never to be remembered.

Seven days (counting today, June 2) to cake and ice cream.

The glorious thing i discovered from years and years of prolifically writing is the freedom and growth that are only possible when you reach this level.

What i mean by that is i never write to gain or grow a following.

i write simply for the strength and clarity it provides.

Like food nourishes, or water hydrates – both are critical.

But what is critical to our attitude?

Thinking.

Writing prolifically and unashamedly unleashes thinking.

i will begin my birthday day (in seven days) by spending the first two hours writing.

__________

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
