Stress is effort-avoidance

Disney University sign
Time for a lunch meeting at DU.

Stress is the inability to decide what’s important. Stress is wanting to relax, yet you feel you should exercise.

Rain check please

Grinnell Glacier hike 2019
Grinnell Glacier hike 2019.

Rain check please.

Yesterday’s 30-mile Disney bicycle ride was cancelled.

We (Orlando) needed an all-day rain.

More rain this afternoon.

The early bird gets the worm.

Sunrise is 6:50 AM.

Hoping to be in the saddle by then.

Get to do vs have to do

Sleeping Beauty Castle
Walking through Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure theme parks last week never felt like exercise.

The perfect exercise is one that you find invigorating.

The perfect exercise will sometimes feel like work, but that work-feeling won’t have controlling interest over invigorating.

We walked 8-10 miles every day, seven consecutive days, plus four days in Eugene, Oregon before arriving in Anaheim.

Hei Hei

Magic Happens Disneyland parade
Hei Hei was a delightful surprise, as was Moana having a parade float.

Hei Hei is comedic relief in the Moana story.

Find a million ways to stay motivated.

Humor is a good source.

So are the world’s best athletes and teams.

Balance nonsense with Olympic Gold medal karma.

Embrace the hard

Beach sunflower.

The harder it is to do something, the longer it takes to get there, just know the rewards are proportional.

The more you know, the more you’ll want to know.

The more you know, the more you can do.

The more you can do, the more you’ll want to do.

The more you want to do, the more you need to learn.

Embrace it as it gets harder.

As it gets harder, it gets easier.

Take getting and staying fit as a keystone example.
